Our Community Baptist Church Statements of Faith

The Holy Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and was written by men divinely inspired, and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction; that it has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter; and it provides instructions for living, and it is the standard and final authority by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried.
2 Tim. 3:16
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, whose ministry is to reveal Christ to humankind, to enact the salvation of souls through regeneration, and to perfect the sanctifying work of their souls.  It is the Holy Spirit who seals the believe unto the day of redemption, indwell the believer upon salvation, and who fills the believer to the point of overflow as on the day of Pentecost.
John 15:26-16:15; Acts 2; Ephesians 1:13, 5:18
The Deity of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God, conceived of the Holy Spirit in the Virgin Mary, whose ministry, death, burial and resurrection purchased the salvation for whomever believes on His name; and that through his sinless nature being both fully divine and fully human, is the all-sufficient Savior and Mediator between GOD and humankind.
Luke 26:26-38; 1 Tim. 2:5, 1 Tim 3:16
The Ordinances
Christian Baptism
We believe that Christian baptism is one of the two ordinances of the Baptist Church, that is happens by full immersion of the believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit according to Matthew 28:18-20; and that it symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ; that it is an outward demonstration of one's personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, identifying with the death of Christ in baptism, and his resurrection by being raised in a newness of life.

Holy Communion
We believe that the second ordinance Christians is Holy Communion, also known as the Lord's Supper, a sacred privilege open to all believers whereby the use of bread, which represents the body of Christ, and the fruit of the vine, which represents the shed-blood of Christ, commemorate together the suffering and dying love of Jesus Christ, preceded always by self-examination. We further believe that by taking the bread and drinking the cup, we remember the Lord's death until he comes.

1 Cor. 11:23-28
Salvation Through Jesus Christ
We believer that there is no other name under the heaven whereby humankind might be saved, than the name of Jesus; that through His death, burial, resurrection and ascension into heaven, that by his blood, he is now our Advocate who pleads our case based on his own sacrifice; which salvation is received by faith through grace upon a personal confession of faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross.
  Romans 5:8; Romans 8:9-10; 1 Cor. 15:3-4, 1 John 2:2
New Testament Church
We believe that a New Testament Church is a universal body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, whose calling is to live out Kingdom principles on earth as witnessed through worship, service, the spread of the Gospel, establishing of the Kingdom of God in all the world. We further believe that the Church will be raptured or snatched away at the coming of Christ when He descends from heaven with a shout, the voice of the archangel and the trumpet of God, then the dead in Christ will rise first, and those who remain alive will be caught up together with them in the air.
Acts 2:42-47; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
The Triune God
We believe in that there is only one TRUE GOD, an infinite intelligent spirit whose name is Jehovah, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth; that in the unity of the  Godhead there are three persons,  the Father,  the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection, executing distinct yet harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.
Matt. 3:16-17, 28:18-20
A Call to Act Justly
We believe the body of Christ is called to be agents of justice embodying the compassionate spirit of Christ who came to heal the brokenhearted, to give recovery of sight to the blind, to release the captives, and lift up the oppressed; and will judge nations regarding the treatment of those known as the "least of these."  "For God has shown us what is good and what is required of us, that we act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God"

Micah 6:8; Matt. 25; Luke 4:18-19
